Please note: This is a LOOOOOOONG overdue post but I’m still putting it out there!
So, Scotland’s degree shows have flown by for another year and yet again a bunch of superb new designers emerge. Long gone is their crying, drinking, sweating, eating, crying, drinking, drinking, drinking – well that’s what I was doing NINE years ago…
Can you believe I’ve managed to post this on the day I’m supposed to?! *bows*
So today mostly involved me running around in the rain, trying to find shelter – THANKS GLASGOW. It wasn’t all dreich (miserable to the foreigners, ha!), as I managed to come across some gems whilst dripping weegie rain water all over them – some which were rather expensive…
Will I ever post Wednesday’s ‘WANTS’ on Wednesday? Hhmmm. I have a good enough reason for that though…I was in Laaandaaan! I was away at an event in the Google offices with my ‘day job’. I snapped a man working AND exercising simultaneously, as well as some lilo’s on the ceiling…
Don’t worry, it’s just got better because I have my first designer/maker spotlight post for you!
Paper artist, Nicola McFadyen of Doodlemoo Designs kindly responded to my re-post about featuring designers and I’m rather happy that she did 🙂
Nothing fills me with pleasure quite like a good hours stroll around an art store. Not just any art store though (cue sexy M&S music) – CASS Art on Glasgow, Queen Street.
To make me even more excited, the Glasgow store is hosting a launch weekend starting tomorrow – Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March, to thank all you lovely lot for being so nice and for contributing to the stores success!
So I’ve decided to start a weekly post, every Wednesday called Wednesday’s ‘WANTS’ 🙂 I know it’s Thursday now but I was too busy to finish this yesterday!
Why you say? Well, it basically came in to my head when I was looking through the photo’s I had taken in TK Maxx yesterday on my lunch break, of all the things I wanted…and it happened to be a Wednesday – over the hump an’all that – so Wednesday’s ‘WANTS’ was born!
It’s time for me to start a new collection 😀
I’ve decided on a 50’s Miami Beach vibe, honouring the glorious Art Deco architecture, clean lines, hazy hues and the odd palm tree and classic car. I’M EXCITED.
Well folks, we’re nearing the end of January already!
Whilst lying back with my feet up over the festive break, demolishing jars of Nutella and freaking out watching The Bridge (watch it – Netflix), I reflected back on what was quite a progressive year for DanYELL. Let’s not forget I had to battle getting up every day for my day job (like we all do), as well as designing in the evenings and weekends! My friends think I’m mad and they’re probably right.
